Local-first by design
RangeWater is an Android application for mapping pasture assets, water access, gates, and herd movements. It does not require a RangeWater account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or operator tracking.
Information stored on your device
RangeWater stores the ranch records you enter, including pasture geometry, water-source details, gate information, herd records, movement history, display settings, and audit timestamps, in the app's local storage on your Android device.
Map imagery and network requests
RangeWater uses internet access to request aerial and labeled map tiles for the area visible on screen. Those requests necessarily reveal the requested map-tile coordinates and ordinary connection information such as an IP address to RangeWater's imagery gateway and its government imagery sources.
RangeWater does not attach your ranch records, herd records, name, email address, or a RangeWater account identifier to those requests.
Backup and sharing
RangeWater can create a portable .rangewater archive containing your app records and settings. You choose where that archive is saved through Android's system file picker. The destination may be device storage, removable storage, or a third-party document provider such as Google Drive.
When you use Share Latest, Android shows the installed apps and services that can receive the archive. Any destination you choose handles the file under its own privacy terms. RangeWater does not silently upload backup archives and does not receive your cloud-storage login credentials.
Data deletion
You can delete individual records inside RangeWater. You can remove all app-local data by clearing RangeWater's storage or uninstalling the application. Copies that you exported or shared must be deleted from their destination separately.
Children's privacy
RangeWater is a professional agricultural planning utility and is not directed to children.
Changes
If RangeWater's data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
